sm_kajFellow Members,

Wow, what a start to the New Year!  A great speaker, a big crowd, and lots of great auction items. Despite the small little technical problems we had, I think it was a successful start to 2010!  It was really gratifying to see so many members come out, especially those that we haven’t seen in a while.  I was a little overwhelmed and did not get a chance to talk to everyone I wanted to but, I will make a point of finding you next meeting.  A BIG Lancaster County welcome to the SEVEN NEW members that joined. If you haven’t already done so, please register here on the website.  We have a forum that is becoming more active every day and you will find that information is posted there before anywhere else.

I do need to beg for your help in a few areas.  First we  really need someone for the Treasurer position. This is a key member of the board and should not be handled by the President as it currently is.  If you need to know more about the duties of Treasurer, please contact me.  Also, we could use some more help at the meetings with the front table and with the auctions. Everyone did a great job at the January meeting but I think we all slept until Monday morning.  If you think you can help in one of those areas, contact Chris, Lonny or myself.  The Breeder Award Program got off to a good start this year with 3 spawnings by 2 members.  I know of 2 submissions for Tank Tales that are coming in from members who have never submitted an article before.  Articles and the BAP- like I said at the January meeting, Education and Conservation are my 2 key points of emphasis.

We have a great program lineup for 2010 and some other events are in the works.  I understand from Pedro that he has secured a location for the Club picnic in August and we will have the Shop Hop in July.  We will have more details as we get closer to the summer.  I will be attending the NorthEast Council Convention in Connecticut from February 26th to the 28th and will tell everyone there about the fantastic Aquarium Club of Lancaster County.  Don’t forget to tell all your friends, relatives and strangers about the ACLC!

See you on the 20th!
